To complete the NRP ADVANCED Online Course, student needs to purchase or have access to the NRP 8th Edition textbook. Students tell us that this is very important when doing the online class. The textbook is available through AAP directly.

NRP 8th Edition Advanced Provider Course Information
The Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) prepares students on managing and prioritizing care for a newborn with complications. This course highly emphasizes the importance of team-based resuscitation.

NRP has been reformatted to utilize a blended learning format which involves an online portion and an in-person instructor-led portion. The new 8th Edition ADVANCED Provider course is made up of 2 Parts:

Part 1- Complete the NRP 8TH EDITION ADVANCED PROVIDER ONLINE PART 1. This includes the online written exam and course evaluation. Student must bring the ADVANCED Provider Completion Certificate to class to participate in the instructor-led Skills Session. ADVANCED Provider Online License/Key to access NRP ADVANCED Online Course Part 1 is emailed to Student.


NRP no longer provides a distinction between certification and renewal. All students will take the online portion and then participate in the same activities at the NRP 8th Edition ADVANCED Provider Instructor-Led Course Part 2. However, participation will be tailored to the experience of the student.

NRP Instructor-Led ADVANCED Skills Session Includes:

  • Performance Skills Stations
  • Integrated Skills Stations (required)
  • Simulation and Debriefing (required)

The instructor-led portion is a no stress learning time designed to learn/ refresh skills of neonatal resuscitation and is not considered a pass/ fail session.

CEs Available

Student receives CEs from BOTH The CPR Lady Training Center and American Academy of Pediatrics depending on profession.

The CPR Lady Training Center has been accredited as an Authorized Provider to offer CEs to Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), Paramedics (Medic), Pharmacists (RPh), Physician Assistants (PA), Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCP or RT), Registered Nurses (RN) and Nurse Practitioners (NP)

Students must request CEs from The CPR Lady at the time of class, state their profession, give their license number, and sign the CE Roster. CEs cannot be issued after the class is completed and closed.

The American Academy of Pediatrics is authorized to offer ACCME Credit Designation Statement to Physicians (MD), ACCME Credit Designation Statement to Physician Assistants (PA), NAPNAP Credit Designation Statement to Nurse Practitioners (NP), ANCC Credit Designation Statement to Registered Nurses (RN), CRCE Credit Designation Statement to Respiratory Therapists (RCP or RT), ACCME continuing education units to Midwife Providers, and CAPCE Continuing Education Accreditation to Emergency Medical Services (EMT and Medic) for the NRP Advanced Provider Course

The CPR Lady provides American Heart Association CPR BLS Provider and Instructor certifications and renewals throughout Southern California including Orange County, LA County, San Diego County, and Inland Empire, as well as, San Luis Obispo County, Santa Barbara County, Sacramento County and the San Francisco Bay Area. The CPR Lady is authorized to issue AHA cards in California, Arizona and Nevada.
